Weekends

Last weekend was filled with social activities. When we plug in the camera next we might try to update you with pictures but basically we filled our time socialising and shopping. On Friday evening was our scheduled DVD night with our new neighbours Jackie & Richard. The girls watched 27 Dresses and Richard & I watched The Last King Of Scotland, which of course, featured enough violence, death and political history to befit such an event. Jackie had the best variety of cheese available prior to dinner and Neish made her fabulous meringue, raspberry and chocolate dessert!!

Then on Saturday morning for breakfast I got to meet the Lambert girls old-time friend/neighbour from Berri - Jade and her boyfriend Tom. It was great to meet these guys and hang out with EllieJordan as well. And (well it was a busy weekend) we then went to dinner with Anisia's work friend Ellice and her husband Matt. Another lovely evening with a nice glass of wine I must say (it was a bottle I had bought from Kaesler during my high school prac). Anisia made her soon-to-be-famous chocolate fudge pudding for dessert. Mmmmm... =)

The other big event during the day on Saturday & Sunday was BED SHOPPING. We wanted to buy a bed with the vouchers and money we received from our engagement party in QLD. So thanks guys! Your money went towards the whole package. Neish found some amazing deals at Target with the sheets, pillows, covers etc and after trying IKEA, HARVEY NORMAN, HAGGLE co, and other smaller stores we found the ideal BED & Mattress. We are so pleased with it - we will have to take photos when it arrives. The purpose of buying another queen bed was so that visitors can stay at our place in the future. I am setting up the bed this weekend coming so feel free to buy a ticket to SA and stay at our place (well Neish's place at the moment) any time you like. You all have an official invitation. Come stay with us! We would love to have you!

And that was just last weekend! There are plenty more things happening this weekend as well! We will keep you updated as it happens. =)

Four Months

Yesterday Anisia and I celebrated the four month countdown until our wedding! How exciting! We are also very aware how much planning there is still yet to do. To help us in this task we have devised a new weekly schedule that will help keep our lives in balance. We are wanting to spend adequate time with each other, work, study, wedding planning and visiting friends & family. What we find most enjoyable about our new routine is a daily walk where we can debrief our respective days and spend quality time with each other.

and a bit of fun with mac =)

family dinner

We have been trying to have regular "Family Dinner" night on a fortnightly basis for a while now. This is the most recent family dinner at Anisia's place, attended by Rikki, Kristin, Joshua, Simeon, Ellie, Jordan, Jessie, Nathan and Anisia: quite a crowd for a small space!!! We got there though, with Elliejordan bringing camper chairs and borrowing the neighbours' fancy Ikea dropside table =)

Simeon disappeared at one stage. We found him in front of the mirror where I had left him 15 mins prior so he could look at himself with his crown on. He was standing there admiring himself but also having an inquisitive time working out where his hand went when he put it behind the mirror... =) So CUTE!!

Faith Lutheran High School

This week I have been busy attending Faith Lutheran High School in the Barossa. One of the Sem requirements has it that you are to visit a Lutheran High school for a week and check out what happens. I have quite enjoyed my time thus far even if it has been a little hectic trying to learn names and adapt to different systems in the space of a few days. Things should settle down a little now because Pastor Phil (my supervising pastor) has left for Pastor's conference today and has left me in charge =) Well sort of...

Yesterday I created a powerpoint to be used in today's Quiet Time for the whole school that I am quite proud of. So, I thought I would share a few of the images with you (below). The photos are from my overseas travel last year and were touched up a little with our brilliant MAC. These photos and others flashed by the screen while the bible text from Matthew 6 was displayed.

Better go teach a class or something =)

nathan's birthday

Nathan had a day with his beautiful love including:

1. Present hunt ("hot" and "cold" game: Lamberts know it well. Nathan loved it but demonstrated to Anisia that she needs to find better hiding places next time)
2. Breakfast of his choice (he chose omelettes)
3. Lunch at Boho Restaurant (Unley Rd) http://www.bohobar.com.au/ (SO COOL! Moulin-Rouge atmosphere)
4. Haighs Chocolate Factory Tour

5. Stargate with Baileys in hand (Anisia gave Nathan Season 10 on DVD). 6 episodes were watched over the weekend =) Both of them were very happy.

6. Dinner and a good glass of red compliments of our neighbours Jackie and Richard who we had for dinner the night before (so much fun!)

7. Hot chocolate, chocolate pudding and banana split at the Elephant Walk cafe whilst playing Quarto, a new game given to Nathan by Anne and Kevin.

Study Continues

Hi Folks! I have just come back from chanting the page 6 liturgy (as LCA lutherans tend to call it) across the road at ALC. I thought I did a pretty good job on the whole except for the time when the pianist started playing all the notes for me! Actually the session was recorded on video so I hope it doesn't leak out on the Internet or anything! Before I jump back into study I thought I would update the blog with the latest. Basically, I still have my head down with study because we are in our final week of the Trimester. I think with God's help I can make it. I wasn't really sure before the engagement party but now I am knocking one thing after another and getting closer to the end. I think my best effort was my joint 50 minute presentation for liturgics that had minimal preparation (the day b4) but went so well (or so I think). As for Anisia, she is working hard and keeping the wedding preparations moving. She is also secretly planning something for my birthday this Saturday (or so I think) - can't wait. I just hope I can sleep in Saturday morning because I might need it after this week!

Better keep going and type more text into the right word document...

The Wedding Party

We thought it timely to announce our wedding party since I have just mentioned dresses being made in the UK =)

Nathan's groomsmen will be: Aaron Glover (Nathan's brother, also Best Man), Rikki and Cheyne Lambert (Anisia's brothers)
Anisia's bridesmaids will be: Ellie Whittaker (Anisia's sister, also Matron of Honour), Cassy Henderson and Yvonne Conry (Nathan's sisters)
Page boy: Joshua Lambert (eldest grandchild on the Lambert side, also Anisia's Godson)
Flower girl: Annabelle Henderson (eldest grandchild on the Glover side)

We are very excited and can't wait to have these very special people stand by our side to support us on September 28th.

'Sequence' at Coolangatta airport

After mum got us to the airport an hour early with our overweight luggage (engagement presents!), we decided to pass the time with one of them (thanks Kay!!!). We had a ball =)
