After dropping Nathan in the city for some training I decided to try out a new supermarket which people have told me is one of the cheapest in Adelaide and their produce is good quality. I was bitterly disappointed in the price and quality of their products but also very annoyed at the trolley mayhem taking place in there in addition to the restocking that staff were trying to do in the already crowded aisles. I left with the resolve that I would not go there again.
As I approached the car in the 39 degree heat I pulled out my keys and went to unlock the boot only to realise that the inside of my remote keys was missing! All that was there was the case and the key attached to the end... I was confused about how this had occurred and calmly tried to search for the electronic dooby whilst secretly panicking that one of the many cars driving through the carpark would run over it...) My search was futile. Walked all through the car park, bending down to check under cars which had since parked in the path I had walked to and from the shops. I emptied my bag twice to no avail. Checked with supermarket staff and no-one had handed electronic dooby in. Tried to start car to no avail. By this stage getting hot and bothered and sunburnt. Sat inside supermarket and called RAA who sent a man out to tell me that I would not be able to start car unless I had one of the 3 keys given when we purchased the car. RAA man searched the carpark and supermarket with me (thought that was above and beyond the call of duty). Left my name with the supermarket in case someone found it and handed it in. RAA man flagged taxi (again, above and beyond). Left groceries at supermarket so they would not perish in the car. Caught taxi to Nathan, hot and upset by the time I got to him. Picked up Nathan's keys and caught taxi back to car. Picked up groceries and put them in car (again). Got home, still hot and bothered. As I was putting items away, felt something strange in my bra - found the electronic dooby!!! I laughed at myself for quite some time. When Nathan got home we laughed some more. How ridiculous. 2hrs and $20 taxi fare later I am home and all is well.

13 weeks to go!!
We now have 13 weeks to go until we meet baby Joey. He/she makes sure we know about its presence with many kicks and I think some somersaults...! The weather has been stinking hot but we have survived well so far. Had to catch the bus to and from work a couple of times this week (we don't have access to the 2nd car we were using anymore which means either one of us has to public transport it to work)... my feet and legs were quite swollen by the time I got home and my wonderful husband who got home 10mins before me had a bucket of cold water ready to soak my feet in and then helped me further by massaging my legs whilst they were propped on a gym ball. He is very helpful and I know he will continue to be so when baby arrives which gives me good feelings.

26 weeks
Self portrait...

Definitely getting obvious now! Am loving every minute of it - aside from the contractions I felt this week (Wed night) after a big day at work. Ended up taking half of Thursday and all of Friday off just to be safe. Our midwife called it an "irritated uterus" and was my body's way of telling me to take it easy. So I am, thus the sewing projects below. Love it.

Sewing projects
Did some sewing today. Got the dress from an Op Shop for $6 in their maternity section and decided to "renovate it". I have a few skirts with cotton lycra at the top and they are just so comfy for my belly so decided to make one myself out of this cool fabric with very cool border at the bottom. When I went to DK fabrics to buy the cotton lycra I just "happened" to walk through the cotton section and found some lovely fabric that I could not leave without. So today I made two skirts and am very proud of my efforts =)

15 weeks to go!
Here we are, Joey and I at 25 weeks!

Everything has been going well so far. Nathan and I are LOVING the journey toward parenthood and can't wait to have Joey in our arms. We recently acquired a free change table to match the free cot we were given (many thanks to Rikki and kids for picking it up for us). We have been very blessed by people's generosity toward us.
Not long til I finish work: 6 weeks until annual leave (14th - 28th Dec, mum and dad coming to visit during that time!) then back to work 29th Dec to 8th Jan!! Not long at all =) I am actually very ready to stop working now but will try and work til Jan to make things easier on our finances.
Next step is to join the Aquatic Centre and get swimming on a regular basis. Will finally be able to wear the baby-belly friendly swimmers that Ellie helped me buy during my last trip to Qld. Thanks Ellie! WIll help me feel much better at the pool.
Til next time, 'A

We're making a comeback...!
After 13 months of absence from our blog, I decided to make a comeback! It may be short lived but I'll give it a try =) This has come after some encouragement from avid blogger friends plus realising that Facebook doesn't give you the journal-type forum that a blog does. I don't know if anyone will read it much but I hope that it can be a place where I reflect on the changes happening in our lives over the coming years, including the addition of members to our family, moving out to a congregation somewhere and the life of a stay-at-home mum, pastor's wife and sewing and cooking lover. We'll see how I go. Nathan will no doubt make some entries too but for now I'll just give it a go =)
